Youth Cooking Contest

The contest is open to Alabama residents 17 years and younger. Competitors MUST pre-register for this contest no later than Tuesday, October 6, 2026, at 12:00 

p.m. 

Recipes must be on a Alabama National Fair Recipe Form and are due at the time of the contest and can be found here: https://alnationalfair.org/youth-early-entry-competitions/

Use puff pastry in a fun way to create a tasty appetizer. Include your favorite fillings, such as various meats, cheeses, etc. Bring enough to serve 4 to 5 judges. The dish should be prepared at home 

and brought to the Creative Living Center ready to serve. 

Dish must be the creation of the exhibitor. 

JUDGING CRITERIA

Appearance/Presentation – 10% 

Creativity of Recipe – 20%

Flavor/Taste – 50%

 Texture – 20%
